3 year Heritage Lottery Funded Skills for the Future project
ADMINISTRATOR Scale 3 Ref: 50202290
10 hours per week for 3 years
Glamorgan Archives preserves the written history of a large and populous region of south Wales. It is leading this project to provide work-based placements covering skills for digitisation, research, conservation and community engagement. The project is a partnership between local authorities and educational institutions across south Wales and is intended to fill an observed skills gap at an operational level in the heritage sector. The outcome will be a cohort of young people with enough training to recognise when more is needed, who can digitise, reach out to community groups and tell people where to go for more information and advice. Ten placements will be available over 3 years.
The Administrator will assist the Project Manager in delivering the project, providing administrative and financial assistance and support including liaison with trainees and partner organisations.
Experience of accounting and office systems is required together with competence in IT including use of databases. The post is being offered as a secondment opportunity to staff of the partnership organisations. The Glamorgan Archivist is available for informal discussion on 029 2087 2202.
