Alan,
Sorry, I think there may be a misunderstanding. Fiona is not connected
to the BBC except through her interactions with the College of
Journalism. I think Mike's reference was to the following quote from
Fiona's blog:
"This hunch was confirmed by a senior BBC reporter who suggested, just
as he was about to sit and listen to the nuclear experts we had
assembled for him, "Your guys are all nuclear experts so they are bound
to play this down.""

hysteria sweeps across newsrooms
Dear MK (and Bob),
This link is a personal contribution in a blog by Fiona Fox, who as Bob
says is Director of The Science Media Centre, which is an independent
venture... etc (see their webpage http://www.sciencemediacentre).
The blog happens to be in the "College of Journalism, part of the BBC
Academy", so I do not understand how her contribution could possibly be,
as you say, "the BBC's take on things"? Do you know if she has any
official connection with the BBC?
There was one brief 2 line comment to her contribution, by yourself, MK
I assume, and a much longer "complaint" from WilliamCB which should be
read, at least in the interests of free speech and a free press.
