Subject: Re: UK based alternative to Eventbrite
Thanks all for the suggestions, however I'm still favouring Eventbrite at this stage as its customisation for free events seems way greater than Amiando. Amiando seems to allow zero customisation for free events leaving the participant list showing, something I cannot allow for events attended by the general public.
It also has a checkbox that has to be unchecked by the participant in order to opt out of email from Amiando, we don't wish to receive complaints from annoyed members of the general public about spam from our events because they didn't see the checkbox.
These things are fine for professional events but not for general public events in my opinion.
If anyone knows how to solve these issues with Amiando please email me off list at [log in to unmask], I'd be very grateful.
You may have gathered by now I'm trying to find a free online booking facility for public events like museums at night whilst respecting data protection rights. I realise I may be asking too much of any free service, but I wanted to give it a shot.

+1 for Amiando
I just used it for http://thebigm.mobi - it is incredibly flexible, much more so than Eventbrite

Can anyone suggest an alternative to Eventbrite that is based in the European Economic Area (yes, it's that specific folks!) and doesn't charge for free events?
I've looked at EventElephant, but they make a distinction between free business and personal events and charges for free business events, this probably rules them out for museum use.
Thanks
