Masters Programmes in Human Geography at Queen Mary University of London
At Queen Mary we offer a range of exciting Masters programmes taught by
leading scholars from our three human geography research themes
(Economy, Development and Social Justice; Culture, Space and Power; and
Health, Place and Society), each focused around specific areas of
contemporary geographical research and practice:
MA Cities and Cultures
MA London Studies
MA Geography
MA Community Organising (new 2010)
MA Globalisation and Development (new 2011)
These advanced programmes are available for students to study on a +1
(Masters only) or 1+3 basis, enabling them to continue on to a PhD on
the successful completion of their Masters degree. All of our Masters
programmes are available on a FT or PT basis.
The School of Geography was ranked joint first in the 2008 Research
Assessment Exercise, with three quarters of our research rated as
‘world-leading/internationally excellent’

Entry requirements are an upper second class honours degree or higher in
a humanities or social science subject (or equivalent international
qualification) together with two supportive academic references.
