Dear Ian,
Are you aware that Records Management Society RGLA 2003:1 has been
withdrawn as it is now out of date and a number of the retention periods
are now incorrect. It has been replaced by the LGCRS which can be
accessed by IRMS members via the LGCRS website. For details please see:
http://www.irms.org.uk/lgcrs
Best wishes

My copy of the Records Management Society RGLA 2003:1 section 4.10
states 1 year for unsuccessful tenders. Has there been an update on
this?

For unsuccessful tender documents Dorset County Council follow the
Record Management Society recommendation (4.10) and TNA guidance which
is destroy
2 years after the issuing of the contract. We keep successful contracts
for 6 years after the end of the contact.
Hope that helps.

Retention of unsuccessful tender documents
Can anyone confirm how long unsuccessful tender documents (ie completed
Pre-Qualification Questionnaires from unsuccessful bidders) should be
kept for?
I?ve looked at a number of organisations? retention schedules, but have
found conflicting guidance. Most seem to say they should be kept for 1
year from the start of the contract, citing common practice as the
derivation, others say 2 years and one public sector body says 6 years,
citing the Limitation Act 1980.
