MESSAGE FOLLOWS:
Dear All,
The First International Workshop on Folk Music Analysis: Symbolic and
Signal Processing will take place in Athens, on the 19th and 20th of May
2011. The Venue is the University Museum in the Old Town, under the
Acropolis.
Workshop site: http://www.di.uoa.gr/fma
This is an event which gives researchers working in the area a chance to
meet, present their work, and discuss formally and informally common
research challenges, problems, and solutions.
A selection of presentations will be invited to submit a paper to the
Special Issue on Computational Folk Music Analysis, Journal of Analytical
Approaches to Folk Music (http://aawmjournal.com).
The choice of speakers and topics can be found on the website, and was
made by invitation only. However, there are still a few slots available:
If anyone is interested in presenting, please send us a title and abstract
as soon as you can, and no later than the 15th of April 2011.
Concerning attendance, if you are planning to attend without presenting,
again please send us an email so that we can make the necessary
provisions.
Many thanks, and hoping to see you in Athens in May.
On behalf of the organisers,
Christina
