The Institute and Museum for the History of Medicine seeks to appoint a
research associate / post-doc fellow (part-time: 50%). This position
offers the opportunity to pursue your research interests, whilst
participating in teaching and administration of the institute.
We hope to be able to strengthen the recent history of medicine and will
give preference to candidates with projects on any aspect of medicine in
the twentieth century. We understand the history of medicine as a broad
discipline including medical science, practice, nursing and midwifery,
public health etc.
The Institute is currently involved in teaching within the local medical
education and has excellent contacts within the medical faculty. We aim
to contribute more substantially to the emerging stream of medical
humanities. Alongside medical education, we aim to strengthen our
teaching portfolio for students of social sciences and humanities.
For this position, we expect the successful candidate to have completed
a PhD in the history of medicine. We are keen to appoint an English
speaker, but will encourage the successful candidate to learn German
whilst in post. The salary will be subject to relevant experience of the
successful candidate.
The position is tenable for a maximum of three years. The application
