Hi,
When we did this as part of a sporting exhibition last year, we
arranged it as a series of special events with equipment supplied, and
supervised, by members of local sports clubs. This was partly due to
issues of space, but also addressed the Health & Safety concerns.
Regards
Jill

Hi Katie,
We've had a scrum machine in our permanent galleries since 1996, and
have had no reported injuries. We don't take any special precautions
other than having the equipment properly installed, regularly inspected,
and with clear instructions for use.
We're also looking to introduce a gallery upgrade that may involve some
of things that you mentioned. Give me a call (02088928877) if you'd like
to compare notes.

Subject: [SHCG-LIST] Sporting Equipment
Hello,
We are staging a major sporting exhibition in August 2011, and we are
hoping to have some sporting equipment in the exhibition space for
people to use. Exercise bikes, cross trainers, heart monitors, etc.
Has anyone ever attempted this? Can anyone recommend a supplier who
would feel their equipment was sturdy enough for general public use? Has
anyone attempted to address health and safety implications regarding
this?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Best wishes,
Katie
