Here at the Beatson we have set-up various Scheduled activities to
indicate different treatments. When a new patient is entered into ARIA,
for treatment, they are each given one of our 'New Start' activities.
This indicates the date of their first day of treatment. To indicate the
compelxity of the treatment they are assigned , for example; 'New Start
Rapid Arc' , 'New Start IMRT' , 'New Start Chart' etc. For a 'routine'
patient they are assigned simply as 'New Start'.

Subject: Treatment Complexity Tracking
Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone has any ideas or comments on this one ....
We all track complex / simple RT via the current Y911 , Y912 , Y913 or
Y914 codes however, I would like to be able to track this in a bit more
detail,, broken down into IMRT / RapidArc / Conformal / Simple +/- IGRT
etc .
Preferred option at the moment is probably to use time planner
activities , such as we already do for reviews etc, and make various
activities such as First_Tmt_IMRT , Daily_Tmt_IMRT etc etc. Will require
a bit of setting up in admin, and assigning the various activity capture
bits, but other than that I think it should work....
Other options we have considered are :-
using a separate ID - I really dont favour that as have enough problems
as it is ! can you adapt the Y911 codes -- adding a surfix for example ?
What do other people do,
Any ideas what works best ?
Thanks in advance
Ros
