Dear All,
In antique stuff inherited from when Ox/Bham built Bristol LCG nodes, this
is embedded in /etc/fstab for mounting VO software to WN:
risze=8192,wsize=8192
Now modern 2.6 kernel default is 32768. Want to maximize performance, is
there a reason why 8192 should be preferable to 32768?
Also RAL had advice long ago about using noatime,nodiratime, as I'm building
new WN now, want to implement & may as well on all existing WN.
I was going to apply this to all my WN:
perl -wpi 's/rsize=8192,wsize=8192/noatime,nodiratime/;' /etc/fstab
Comments? Advice treasured!
