Good points about ethernet frame sizes. Why would the Linux default
contradict that though? I usually assume defaults are intended to be
"reasonable". (suspect much hollow laughter at that?)
Just in case anyone finds it useful, the perl line was missing -e:
perl -wpi -e 's/rsize=8192,wsize=8192/noatime,nodiratime/;' /etc/fstab
or
perl -wpi.old -e 's/rsize=8192,wsize=8192/noatime,nodiratime/;' /etc/fstab
for an fstab.old backup copy
