Dear Tim,
when issuing the uname -a command I get:
Linux ... Ubuntu ... i686 GNU/Linux
The i686 tells me that my linux box is a 32-bit platform. Otherwise it
would return something like
x86_64 or ia64 instead of i686.
Please let me know if you need anymore information.
