Hello,
I'm currently looking at options for managing and storing emails, in particular whether we adopt an auto archiving solution or not. My preference is not to adopt such a solution as emails should be for the flow of information rather than a repository to keep that information. Any email that forms a corporate record should be moved into the appropriate record collection and not left to sit in an individuals mailbox. To add weight to my argument to opt for a none archiving solution I was wondering how radical other organisations have gone down this road and whether automatic deletion of emails has been adopted? If you do have an automatic deletion of email policy I am very keen to know how long emails are retained before being deleted (i.e. every month, every six months, etc).
Many thanks,
