Dear all,
The closing date for registration and abstract submissions for the CAA
conference is now only a month away, ending on the 21st March 2011.
The Institute of Archaeology and Antiquity (IAA) at the University of
Birmingham and the CAA (Computer Applications and Quantitative Methods
in Archaeology) UK Chapter Committee will be hosting this years CAAUK
conference running from the 1st - 2nd April.
For registration details please follow the link below:

We are still accepting contributions to the event in the form of a
poster or paper on any topic within the sphere of archaeological
computing. Specific topical themes this year are as follows:
§ Working in a Visual World – From gaming to solid modelling, mobile
technology to augmented reality – we would welcome papers on any aspect
of the pervasive nature of computer visualisation and interfaces with
archaeology and historical disciplines.
Other themes of long-standing interest to researchers and practitioners
include:
§ Archaeological computing methods and techniques within the Cultural
Resource Management (CRM) environment – Submissions on current computing
practice and method are particularly welcome from commercial archaeology
companies, museum professionals, heritage managers, local authority
officers or other bodies working within CRM.
§ Pattern recognition – Finding patterns within archaeological data,
site patterning, image recognition, etc.
§ Theory within Archaeological Computing – The application of
archaeological theory within the computing environment e.g.
post-processual approaches to archaeological computing.
We would like to thank those all those who have submitted their
abstracts so far. For those looking to give a paper, these should be 20
minutes in duration. Please send the title for the paper to be given
along with a 300 word abstract to
