I couldn't say which is the best book on Antonioni. I don't know exactly what you are looking for, but personally I am very fond of William Arrowsmith's 'Antonioni: The Poet of Images'. Arrowsmith does not hide the fact that he holds Antonioni in high esteem, and he is very passionate in his praise of the director. Some may consider this to be a weakness of the book, but it's one of the things that I like about it.
All the best,
Matthew.
