Dear all,
Please note the following workshop:
Reception of Thucydides: philology, translation and education
Saturday 5th March, 11-4; Graduate School of Arts & Humanities, Bristol
As part of the work of the AHRC-funded project on the modern reception of
Thucydides (www.bris.ac.uk/classics/thucydides/), this research workshop
will be exploring the ways in which the classical historian has been made
available for use by non-classicists since the Renaissance, and the ways in
which developing knowledge of his work has shaped interpretations in other
disciplines. Participating in the discussion will be Marianne Pade
(Aarhus), Lorna Hardwick (Open), Stefan Kipf (Humboldt) and Liz Lucas
(Oxford).
There is no charge to attend this workshop, but numbers are limited; please
reserve a place by emailing Neville Morley ([log in to unmask]) as
soon as possible.
