Dear SCODHE colleagues,
Just to say that PALATINE is considering running a workshop on teaching PaR in the early summer, and this is the sort of information that it might be useful to collect as a general resource for PG dance studies.
Best wishes
Paul

Subject: PRACTICE-AS-RESEARCH ESSENTIALS
Dear All,
I am due to give a general introductory lecture to postgraduate (MA) students next week on practice-as-research in dance studies. I do have my favourite texts, such as Estelle Barret (2007), and I do use practice-as-research as one of my strategies when researching contemporary African dance. Nevertheless, I am an early career academic, and I'd be very grateful for any advice from those in the know! I'd really appreciate any information on what must be included, such as important texts, or guidelines for students when doing practice-as-research for the first time, best examples of this methodology in actions, and so on.
Please email me at [log in to unmask]
Thanks in advance.
All the best,
Sarahleigh
