“Mapping vulnerability to fuel poverty: linking top-down data analysis with door-to-door outreach”
Venue: The Priory Rooms Meeting & Conference Centre,
40 Bull Street, Birmingham B4 6AF
In recent years, much progress has been made in efforts to map vulnerability to fuel poverty using GIS methods and national datasets of geo-referenced data. Simultaneously, there have been a number of area-based fuel poverty schemes which involved practitioners going door-to-door in particularly deprived neighbourhoods, offering advice and practical support on a range of issues that are linked to fuel poverty (e.g. eligibility for particular support schemes, referral, home insulation and energy efficiency advice). This InCluESEV event brings together experts on both sides in an interactive workshop to discuss better ways to link up these top-down and bottom-up activities, and develop the research and policy agenda for more holistic approaches to deal with the growing impacts of fuel price rises on household deprivation and vulnerability.
The workshop is open to practitioners, policy makers, researchers and academics. If you want to attend or for any other questions or comments with regards to this event, please contact Dan van der Horst [log in to unmask]
The event is free for those who register in advance and travel costs will be reimbursed by InCluESEV see http://sites.google.com/site/incluesev/
