18th Research Methodology Workshop for Manufacturing and Technology Management
31 March - 1 April
Institute for Manufacturing, University of Cambridge
Application deadline, Monday 14 February, 2011
Since 1993, the Institute for manufacturing run a Research Methodology workshop for the Manufacturing, Engineering and Technology Management community.
This workshop is aimed to equip PhD students with an appreciation of research methods and how to cope with data collection, data analysis, writing up and publication. It also provides to doctoral students a forum for presenting their research and getting feedback from peers and experienced researchers. This year’s workshop is divided into two streams: one aimed at first year doctoral students, and the second one designed specifically for senior research students (second year and beyond).
Common objectives of both streams of this event include:
- To provide expert teaching in research methodology for manufacturing operations and technology management
- To provide an opportunity for researchers to present the methodological aspects of their current work in small discussion groups, led by research experts
- To provide an occasion for discussion of the methodological requirements of manufacturing operations and technology management research, and to stimulate and capture new approaches
- To strengthen professional and informal links between members of the research community
