That building block looks like a really useful solution. I sometimes
encourage users to install use a small windows programme called PureText in
situations like this.
It runs in the background and maps a hotkey (by default Windows + V) to
paste only the plain-text content of the clipboard. The effect is the same
as pasting into something like notepad and copying out again.
I don't think non-text objects (e.g.) tables are preserved, but it's saved
me a lot of time with paragraphs of text.
Best,
Chris

Another way I deal with the issue is to use a web browser which has a
"clean" paste option. For example Safari (PC or Mac version) has a "Paste
and Match Style" option which excludes the MS Word format from the pasting.

'true' copy and paste functionality into a text editor in Blackboard? With
all the new features of Bb9.1, this is still proving to be a problem and a
question always asked by academic staff, why they can't copy and paste from
Ms Word into Blackboard without formatting problems.
