Dear All
I'd be grateful for some advice, particularly from university archivists, with regard to the formal paperwork in place when accepting new collections. We are suddenly being advised that every agreement to accept a new collection has to be signed at a very high level within the institution. I'm sure this stems from a lack of understanding of the nature of our work and an over-enthusiastic new appointee, rather than questioning the integrity of our work but I would be interested to hear how this is handled in other institutions. Does your archivist have delegated authority to sign acquisition agreements. If anyone is willing to share their template with me ([log in to unmask]), I'd be most grateful.
Many thanks
