Registration now open for 31st Conference of Applied
Statistics in Ireland (CASI) 2011 – May 18th-20th 2011,
Galway, Ireland.
The Statistics Group within the School of Mathematics,
Statistics and Applied Mathematics in NUI Galway, in
conjunction with the newly established HRB Clinical Research
Facility NUIG, are hosting the 31st CASI in Galway from
Wednesday May 18th to Friday May 20th 2011 on the Salthill
Promenade. The conference is the Irish Statistical
Association’s forum for discussion of statistical and
related issues for Irish and International statisticians
with an emphasis on both theoretical research and practical
applications in all areas of statistics.
Confirmed invited speakers are Professor Murray Aitkin
(University of Melbourne), Professor Paul Eilers (Erasmus
Medical Center, University of Rotterdam), Professor Thomas
Louis (Johns Hopkins University) and Professor Cathal
Seoighe (NUI Galway).
Contributed papers for oral and poster presentations are
sought in all areas of statistics and data analysis. The
deadline for abstract submission is March 18th 2011.
Registration costs are as follows: Full Residential
Conference packages €325 (includes: 2 nights B&B, 2 evening
meals, 3 lunches, wine reception, refreshments and
conference pack) with a Student Full Package of €225.
The Irish Statistical Association is pleased to announce a
number of bursaries to support attendance at CASI 2011 for
career young statisticians. Details on how to apply are
