MSC IN QUANTITATIVE METHODS FOR SCIENCE, SOCIAL SCIENCE AND MEDICINE
This MSc programme is suitable for those wanting to enhance their
quantitative skills and gain practical experience in the application of
statistical methods to solve real-life problems, with 4 optional
specialist pathways in Scientific Research Methods, Crime and Social
Statistics, Statistical Methods for Health Research and Teaching
Statistics.
Key features of the course:
* Modules run as two or four day short courses
* Flexibility to tailor the programme to individual interests
* Ideal for part-time study as part of continuing professional
development
* Hands-on training in the use of a variety of statistical
software packages
* Does not require a very high level of mathematics
* Suitable for students from a wide range of disciplines
An MRes/PhD option is also available.
Students are encouraged to explore ways of relating their work to the
increasingly interwoven areas of science, medicine, criminology,
sociology, psychology, education and economics. Assessment is mainly by
coursework and an in-depth project.
