Daren
Ours are on the SSA list. There was a problem this year with the DDN listing - basically they buggered it up!!

Subject: [Addiction Course Convenors] Skills Consortium HE mapping exercise
Hello all,
Hopefully you will be aware by now of the formation of the Substance Misuse Skills Consortium (http://www.skillsconsortium.org.uk/); the Substance Misuse Skills Consortium was formed, with the support of the NTA, as the ‘sector-led’ group which will ‘improve the substance misuse treatment workforce in England’.
The Association of Higher Education on Alcohol and Drugs (AHEAD, formerly the AHEPSM) is an executive member of the Skills Consortium. Andy Ashenhurst (University of Kent) is our representative to the Skills Consortium. The Skills Consortium has recently convened a sub group to look specifically at the education, training and qualifications of the workforce and Andy is doing an excellent job promoting and pushing for the role of HE in the education of the sector’s workforce. The subgroup has, as a consequence, requested an up-to-date picture of the scope of HE courses in the UK (ostensibly England but I think we can, and should, provide a much broader picture).
There are a couple of course lists available through either the DDN or SSA however I would like to get an immediate picture of where we are right now, so I would be very grateful if you all could please send me asap the titles of the courses that you are currently running (e.g. Foundation degrees, Bachelors degrees, PG degrees, Masters, CPD diplomas etc), the level which they are at (if it is not readily apparent from the title), and current student numbers. My email is [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> . At present FE is very well represented at the subgroup so the more we can demonstrate the depth and scope of HE in this area the stronger position I believe we will be in to influence the agenda.
For those of you who are not yet members of AHEAD (membership is free) can I please urge you to join; you can do so by contacting Tony Priest (University of Leicester) at [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>
I look forward to hearing from you all.
Best wishes
