I'd love to know the going rate: exactly how much per letter. Brings to mind the two cheering occasions on which I was actually paid per word for allowing a research publisher to reprint my literary criticism. The rate went up in the biz between transactions, but I can't cite any precise examples of what one might expect these days. Who can?
