Hi Jackie,
In my humble opinion the GP is "supporting" his patient and giving her what she wants (harsh comment....but fair I think!) - sinusitis needs to be appropriately managed and, as sufferers tend to find it more difficult to sleep at night, night work may possibly be advantageous! In an ideal world, if her GP feels that she needs to avoid night work for 3 months, should he/she be referring her to an ENT specialist?
Just a thought!

Subject: sinusitis and night work
I've just benn handed a fit note from an employees gp stating "Sinusitis". May be fit to work with altered hours - no night work for 3 months. I'm not aware of sinusitis being caused by or exacerbated by night work. Coincidentally the employe has been turned down to change shifts to days for childcare. Any advice on the sinus issue and nights greatfully received.
