Hi, all
This was great! To meet other fellow researchers and know what everybody is
doing!
I have just written an article on how the medicalization of sexuality
affects asexuality, using as examples the sex therapists' speeach in
American TV (six TV shows that discussed asexuality available on AVEN
website). I hope I can get it published in Brazil.
Apparently all of us are Foucault readers, this is great. Herculine Barbin
is helping me a lot to think about asexuality.
Ela, can't wait to read your article. I hope it will be availabe soon.
Thank you all for sharing information and links.
Havea great day.

Hi Aleksander,
That would be great - could you email it to tam.sanger at anglia.ac.uk?
I actually know the person who edited this issue of Sexualities so realise I
can get a copy. Will send you one if you like. Just send me your email
address.

Hey Tam,
I didn'th have anything published, I'm a thrid year philosophy student in
Novi Sad, Serbia. This essay regarding asexuality is going to be my first
article published, but I can translate it into English, and give it to you
and Andrew, with whom I've spoken about it recently... Would appreciate
feedback =)
I currently have the first portion of my article done, as a kind of an
introduction into the historicity of a subject - without history, and
without subjectification; the second half will deal with some of the
foucauldian grounds that this new kind of subject could shatter - like
the hypothesis of sexual repression which could be proven to be quite
existent in the case of asexuality, and the emergence of a new mode de vie
in creation of a new identity without the shaping of a particular 'asexual'
discourse, to name a few.
I don't have access to the article here either. Looked it up on
gigapedia.com
and still nothing.
Would it be a problem if you could upload your article here Ela? =) It
sounds
interesting, especially the review of medicalization (or evene
physiologization? I've dealt with similar topics in my article) I would love
to read it if it's no bother. =)
