The Population Investigation Committee: its history and influence over the last 75 years

In commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the Population Investigation Committee and to celebrate the launch of their historical archives at the Wellcome Library, a free afternoon symposium is being held on Friday 18 February at the Wellcome Collection Conference Centre.
The records of the Population Investigation Committee (PIC) have been catalogued through a grant from the Nuffield Foundation and will shortly become available for consultation in the Wellcome Library. The symposium will explore the influence and contribution of the PIC and its members to the field of demography, covering the social context and development of the PIC as well as research projects that continue to have significance for the study of epidemiology today.
