Two records managers from Mulago Hospital in Uganda will be visiting Liverpool between 1 February and 7 March as part of the Liverpool Women's Hospital-Mulago Hospital Partnership. They are hoping to gain as wide an overview as possible of NHS recordkeeping practice.
I'd be very grateful to any colleague working in the health sector in the North West who could host a visit for a couple of hours or a half-day to talk about their own work. Whilst the visitors are primarily dealing with clinical (maternity) records, information governance generally is also high on the agenda.
The visit is being coordinated by Dr Carol Porter (Wellcome Trust Tropical Centre, University of Liverpool 0151 794 5544;
[log in to unmask] ) and offers of help (or any other suggestions for what might be useful during their stay) will be gratefully received and can either be sent directly to Carol or via myself. Carol will also be happy to provide more information if needed.
This study trip is part of the work of the Liverpool-Mulago Partnership. The immediate context for the visit is explained in a recent BMJ Careers article at http://careers.bmj.com/careers/advice/view-article.html?id=20001788 and the Partnership website itself is at http://www.liverpoolmulagopartnership.org/
