We have not done anything specific on this topic, but in general terms
it looks to me as some of your metadata requirements would be better
served using existing e-GMS elements. For example:
Rather than a Yes/No "Can it be shared?" use the e-GMS Rights element
which is designed to show who has the right to see, copy, redistribute,
republish or otherwise make use of all or part of the resource.
Similarly "Classification" is usually regarded as a refinement of the
same e.g. Rights-Protective Marking
Data Type - Be clear here whether you mean format or type : Format looks
at the physical format of the resource - type looks at the category of
the information in the resource,
Keywords Period it covers - Use Coverage-Temporal
Etc.

Subject: Metadata for Climate Change information...
Hi folks
Happy New Year! Hope you all had a good break!
I'm doing some work with a colleague on metadata for some information on
climate change. So far we have the following sections of metadata
decided upon:
Name
Description
Organisation data held by
Data Type
Can it be shared?
Classification Level
Retention Period
Keywords Period it covers
Discrete or Continuous?
Contains Eastings and Northings?
Comments
What I'd like to know is if anyone has done similar work and would be
prepared to share any metadata templates that they have created with
regards to Climate Change?
Many thanks in advance!
Regards
Sarah
