Hi everyone,
I'm looking at performing some moderated mediations, and mediated moderations, in my regression analyses prior to building an SEM model. Although I am getting my head round the basic conceptual distinctions between these 2 types of analyses, I'm having trouble translating them into the actual equations ( + therefore SPSS commands) I need to do. Which I guess means that it's still not entirely clear in my head otherwise I would find it easy! My supervisor hasn't done these before either so she is taking a crack at it but recommended I see if anyone has actually used the techniques. I have only found one paper explaining a method, Muller Judd and Yezerbyt 2005, which is very helpful but the way they do their mediation is slightly different from Baron & Kenny's method -- so when they explain equations 4,5, and 6 I follow them until equation 6 at which point I get confused. DavidKenny.net also has a basic definition of these techniques, but I think I am not as natural a statistician as David Kenny!
Has anyone here used these techniques? Know of good resources/papers? Can explain how to carry them out? I'm nearly there but it's not quite clicking...
Thanks,
Rebecca
