Dear Colleagues,
In Australia we have had amazing support for teaching and learning in higher education. This body (Australian Learning Teaching Council), which has funded many innovative and radical teaching and learning research projects in ALL disciplines is about to be abolished. The Government insists on quality and standards in higher education, but then abolishes the one body that was providing this. There is a campaign to stop this and we would appreciate your comments and support.
'The ALTC champions a collective approach to improving the quality of university education. This is a necessary step in opening up Higher Ed to everyone who can benefit from it. Abolishing the ALTC is short-sighted and will undermine Australian HE's contribution to equity and excellence.' Peter Goodyear
For those of you interested in supporting the ALTC, and with a particular interest in Teaching and Learning, it's currently in the GET Up Campaign Ideas forum so your support is necessary for it to actually have legs as a campaign.
