Culture, Media and Creative Industries (CMCI) at King's College London are very pleased to announce the launch of their MA Creative Cities an innovative new programme jointly between Geography and CMCI at KCL.
The programme begins teaching in Autumn 2011. Applications should be sent from now on. Please alert any students who may be interested in this.

The programme should interest anyone who is excited and intrigued about the intersection of cities, culture and creativity. The programme develops a perspective on the challenges and opportunities that this the intersection of culture, economy, society have, and how they are situated in the contemporary city. The outlook of the programme is international and comparative. The programme will be of interest to those who are interested in the management of cities or activities in cities, or, those interested in public policy issues, or those interested in the arts and culture in the city. The programme will also serve as a firm foundation for doctoral study.
The programme should appeal to those with a first degree in urban geography, urban sociology, cultural studies, media and communications, etc. to focus on the challenges of managing cities and creativity in an integrated manner.

MeCCSA is the subject association for the field of media, communication and cultural studies in UK Higher Education. Membership is open to all who teach and research these subjects in HE institutions, via either institutional or individual membership. The field includes film and TV production, journalism, radio, photography, creative writing, publishing, interactive media and the web; and it includes higher education for media practice as well as for media studies.
