Hello
Thanks to everyone on this list who tweeted, retweeted, mentioned and followed us on Tuesday. I thought you might like some feedback on the day.
The numbers are:
304 Tweets
12 Retweets
53 Mentions, 13 of which were questions
2 Direct messages
47 new followers (we now have 270 followers)
50 Photos on Twitpic
total views 1680
Median 30
Modal 30
Average 33.6
Website visits were 412 visits against a December average of 143.74 visits per day with 45.18% new visits
Referrals from Twitter went from a December average of 0.94% to 31.8% on the day
All our staff could see Twitter on the day and that helped encourage them to send photos and messages for Twitter. Our two marketing staff tweeting had trouble keeping up at times which was great!
We were using IE7 thorough a proxy server and corporate firewall and two out of the four of us tweeting had access problems over the day with our browsers slowing down and crashing.
Using the Twitter RSS feed on our Facebook page was not a success. Facebook lost the link twice and then stopped updating which seems a common problem with Facebook pages and RSS feeds. I used copy and paste to let our Facebook fans, who had asked for updates on Facebook, see what we were tweeting about.
Given the increase in website visits and the positive response on Twitter we feel we succeeded in informing people what goes on in a museum when it is closed for redevelopment.
You are welcome to contact me on or off list with any questions.
Regards
Rick Lawrence
