Has anyone made any estimates of the proportion of schools (or some
other market) using Google Analytics?
I am working on the MyLearning.org project and we are trying to
establish some evidence for current uptake by schools. We know it is
popular, it gets lots of positive feedback via questionnaires etc, but
we would like to benchmark actual market penetration.
The figures suggest at least 9% of teachers of relevant subjects (50% of
subjects taught) used MyLearning in the last year. That seems pretty
good to me, especially as this is UK-wide (inc Scotland and NI) and
MyLearning is nominally a Yorkshire only project. The real figure will
be higher as the segment used to define school visits will not include
all, and also excludes teachers accessing from home, etc which is
probably a significant fraction. (The 'school' use is roughly 25% of
the total usage.)
Does anyone have any similar figures for comparison?
I can share the spreadsheet off-list with workings (total number of
schools in UK, number of computers per school and per teacher, etc) if
that's useful.

This segment was put together by Peter Pavement (Surface Impression) for
this project and is based on filtering by ISPs. He is happy to share
but suggests you might want to review carefully before using in any
other context.
