Subject: Pub History Society annual conference
Colleagues might be interested in this conference which takes place at
The National Archives on Saturday 19 February.
As always there are a wide range of topics of interest to local
historians, including papers by Dr Lynne Pearson on tiles in pubs, Peter
Hill talking about the pubs of Northamptonshire, Chris Murray discussing
lager drinking in Edwardian London and Isobel Watson looking at what the
Sun Alliance insurance registers can tell us about the inns and taverns
in the first half of the nineteenth century.
Tickets are £5 on the door (free to members) and includes tea and coffee
and a tour of the Archives building.
To register or for further details contact Simon Fowler
([log in to unmask]) or ring 020-8940 6884.
Thanks
