Places are going fast for this one day event. Book soon if you are
interested in joining us.
REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN for a one-day symposium on ‘Personalised
library services in Higher Education’
Tuesday March 22nd 2011, Homerton College, Cambridge, 10am – 4pm
Delegate fee: £75. Lunch and refreshments included.
Confirmed speakers: Jane Secker, Chris Powis, Tim Wales, Andy Priestner
and Elizabeth Tilley
This symposium will consist of a stimulating mix of presentations,
workshops and discussion. ACTIVE participation from delegates will be
crucial to the success of the day.
The event will see exploration of highly-tailored and personalised
library services, and the move from what could be described as ‘just
in-case’ librarianship to ‘just for you’ librarianship which has been
adopted by librarians due to higher user expectations and advances in
technology. Theory and practice will be explored as will the ‘boutique
libraries model’ as presented in CILIP Update in July. More information
on the symposium is available on our new blog.

The symposium will ultimately feed into a forthcoming book on
personalised library services in Higher Education due to be published by
Ashgate Publishing in Autumn 2011.
