I just tried to buy this book following the link below. This in turn led
me to a site called LULU. I use a University Government Procurement card
now, rather than a standard corporate credit card and had the
transaction declined.
Not that unusual as it is all based on categories and codes. Sometimes
the appropriate codes are not activated.
However that was not the case. The merchant simply is not recognised by
the Procurement card system and no solution was forthcoming. What should
have been a simple £30 transaction has turned into a 3 way e mail and
phone epic between myself, our finance department and the card provider.
So be warned, if you want to buy this book don't try to use a
procurement card.
Also someone in the office asked why wasn't it available as an e book?

Some years ago UKeiG published a series of well-received guides and
handbooks including the //Quick Guide to Online Commands,/// /which ran
to several editions, the //Quick Guide to CD-ROM Networking/// /and the
//CD-ROM Practical Guide for Information Professionals./// /After a gap
of some years, the Group has now published a new guide:
/The 2011 Guide to Free or Nearly-Free e-Books./ Edited by Chris

One of the problems which face all librarians adding e-books to their
collections is that of locating new titles: there is no legal deposit
for e-books and consequently there is no single place from which new
titles can be found. If this is true of commercially published e-books,
it is most certainly also true of free e-books… and there are many
thousands of free e-books available over the Internet, many of which are
of a quality such that librarians might wish to have them in their
collections.
//The 2011 Guide to Free or Nearly-Free e-Books/// /is offered as a tool
– an annotated listing of around 230 single titles, collections,
archives, gateways and search engines – for librarians and others
involved in book selection (e.g. teachers in schools) in all sectors –
school, further and higher education, public and special libraries – to
facilitate easy access to free e-books and e-book collections which can
enhance their digital library. The directory has a title and a general
index.
