Health, inequality and wellbeing - the impact of government policy and
what we can do about it
Politics of Health Group Open Meeting
Saturday 5th February 2011
11.00 am 4.00 pm
The Resource Centre
356 Holloway Road, London N7 6PA
(Near Holloway Road tube station)
The Politics of Health Groups steering group believes that many are as
concerned as we are about the threats to peoples health and well-being
from recent policy developments, but feel unsure about how to link with
others to form a critical mass to respond to it.
We need to examine carefully what is being proposed and implemented and
consider the health impacts. Where the potential for negative health
impacts is high, we need to raise awareness of the potential damage and
crucially, try to put a stop to it.
This meeting is intended to energise PoHG supporters and others to take
action by asking you to share your thoughts, experiences and, even more
importantly, your ideas for action around the area of policy that
interests you.
EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO ATTEND BECAUSE WE WANT YOUR IDEAS, YOUR ENERGY
AND ACTION! The meeting will include a series of very brief invited
presentations followed by group and plenary discussions.
If you wish to attend please download the booking form from
http://www.pohg.org.uk/support/downloads/booking-form.rtf
and send it by email to Victoria Smith at
[log in to unmask]
by 18th January 2011, as we need an idea of likely audience numbers. If
you have any questions concerning your booking please contact Victoria
Smith by email.
PoHG operates purely voluntarily with no funding. We are therefore
suggesting that those attending this meeting make a voluntary donation
of around £15 to help cover our costs. This will include lunch.
Donations can be made at the meeting (cheques payable to the Politics of
Health Group).
