Dear all,
Hope everyone had a fantastic holiday.
I am a postgraduate MA English student at Loughborough University
preparing to write a dissertation on Patrick McGrath (Asylum, Dr
Haggard?s Disease, Spider, etc.) and possibly Ian McEwan?s Enduring
Love. As a rough idea of what I?ll be writing about (since it is in
its very preliminary stages), I?ll be focusing on themes such as: fin
de siècle, moral/physical/architectural decay/decadence, psychosis vs.
neurosis (i.e. medical illness in literature) and sexual obsession
(hetero- and homosexual). Any guidance such as secondary sources,
primary sources that include these themes, advice concerning
dissertations or anything in general would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks,
Tanya Pang
