Workshop on Advances in Techniques and Technologies Assisting Care at
Home (ATTACH 2011)
Part of the 5th International ICST Conference on PervasiveHealth 2011,
Dublin, Ireland

The goal of this one-day workshop is to bring together a mixed
audience of researchers, developers and practitioners with an active
interest in technologies that support delivery of care in the home to
share experience in these areas. The proceedings of the workshop will
be published online in IEEE Xplore
(http://ieeexplore.ieee.org<http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/>)
Papers are solicited on the following topics, the focus being home
care technology and its applications:
Technology:
architectures and platforms for home care systems
sensor and actuator networks for the home, including novel devices
for telecare/telehealth
computer-supported home care services and their automated management
automated collection, analysis and interpretation of home care data
synergies between home care and home automation
design and assessment of novel interfaces for home care systems
technological aids for people living at home with long-term
conditions (e.g. heart disease, pulmonary disease, diabetes, dementia)
Applications:
specific solutions to help with daily living (e.g. prompting,
reminding, guidance, communication, community-building)
computer-based support of self-care and home-based therapies (e.g.
diet, rehabilitation, exercise, medication regimes)
extension of home care technologies to near-home support (e.g.
location-based support)
Practice:
design and assessment methodologies for home care technology
the role of technology in the wider provision of social and health
care in the home
the interplay of telecare and telehealth
barriers and facilitators for the uptake of home care technology
policy, economic, psychological and social factors in home care technology
privacy, confidentiality, security and ethical issues in
computer-supported home care
Important Dates:
February 25th, 2011: Deadline for submission of workshop papers
March 25th, 2011: Notification of Acceptance
April 8th, 2011: Submission of Camera-ready manuscript
May 23rd 2011: Workshop
