Hi folks
This is quick reminder that the full papers & workshop deadline for
your annual conference, HCI2011 – Health Wealth and Happiness, is
tomorrow. http://hci2011.co.uk/site/submission-process/ contains
details – basically, full papers should be saved as a PDF and the
submission is through EasyChair.
Accepted full papers will appear in People and Computers XXV and the
acceptance rate is annually between 25-35% - tough enough to ensure
that it is considered comparable to a quality journal, but still
eminently achievable.
This year our conference is in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and has moved
earlier in the year to 4-8th July, both avoiding clashes with other
conferences, but also helping to cope with the increasing number of us
with other work commitments in September. This has moved the deadlines
for submission back to now, hence this reminder.
Since 2007 our proceedings have appeared completely free to the public
via the open online access of the BCS eWiC site, and from there they
are sub-published in the ACM DL (which, although subscriber-only,
leads to increased opportunity for citation). An unusual combination
of circumstances has delayed the online appearance of HCI2010’s papers
until next month, but you can see People and Computers XXIII from
HCI2009 at http://www.bcs.org/category/12181 and at
http://portal.acm.org/toc.cfm?id=1671011
Our keynotes this year are impressive – see below. So if you want your
name to appear in lights alongside theirs, then why not put the
finishing touches to that paper or workshop idea you’ve been mulling
over, and get it submitted before the end of tomorrow.
There will be a second deadline for other categories on 18th February.
Acceptance notification for all submissions is 8th April.
Best wishes
