As part of the National Library of Scotland, the Scottish Screen Archive is Scotland’s national moving images collection. It preserves over 100 years of Scottish history on film and video. The Scottish Screen Archive is based at Hillington Park, Glasgow.
The successful candidate will join a team working on an Arts and Humanities Research Council funded Research Project for the collection, preservation and interpretation of amateur and community video 1980 – 2000.
Project Technical Assistant
£18,660- £21,632 pa plus Civil Service pension
Fixed-term appointment until 31 October 2012
You will assist with the conservation, duplication and digitisation of the moving image collection. You must be able to handle fragile materials with care and have good problem solving and decision making skills. You will need to have a current, clean driving license and a working knowledge of analogue and digital video equipment. Experience of working with video formats, professional and amateur would be an advantage.
