Presenter: Agatha Bula, one of City University¹s PhD students, will share
her recent work on: ³Living conditions of HIV positive women and impact on
exclusive breastfeeding promotion and adherence in rural Malawi²
24 February
Presenter: Gwyneth Lewis, International Clinical Lead for Maternal Health
and Maternity Services. This presentation will cover the reasons why nearly
half a mission pregnant women and nearly 6 million newborns die needlessly
from maternal causes in the world every year and what is finally being done
to address this. ³Dying to have a baby. The reality of the global maternal
health situation compared with the United Kingdom²

Presenter: Eva Menendez, A former student midwife from City University now a
PhD student will present her work on: ³Exploring the process of learning
evidence-based practice among pre-registration midwifery students²
28 April
Presenter: Rosemary Lanlehin, Lecturer in Neonatal Studies, will present her
work on: ³How well do midwives and nurses utilise their advanced examination
of the newborn skills in practice?²

Presenter: Katherine Tyler, Lecturer in Child Health will present her work
on: ³Re-thinking how we think about Ofamily centred care¹: key levers in
working towards patient-centred care with children and their families²

Presenters: Dr Christine McCourt, Professor of Maternal and Child Health,
Professor Alison Macfarlane, Juliet Rayment, Research Associate will discuss
the ³Findings of the Birthplace in England Programme²
