Hi Karen,
Michael had admitted that things went wrong with the list which they are
now resolving.
" there is no more than a handful that I would consider"
The problem is that the "handful" of tools you would consider will
likely be different from the handful that I consider and different again
from those used by other members. Finding something that is accessible
to all members is a challenge for the UKeiG committee as it is for all
committees.
I'd like UKeiG to focus first on getting one communication route to work
well. If they have time to send communications out by other means or to
set up tools to automatically drive messages to multiple services then
great but let them focus on getting LIS-UKeiG sorted out first.
Kind regards,
Mary

So are you suggesting that all members should be forced to join
LIS-UKeiG, presumably by UKeiG adding everyone to the list and which, it
seems, is what happened just before Christmas. And what if people are
not interested in most of the discussions on this list? Would you allow
them to unsubscribe or would we have to resort to setting up kill files
in our email clients?
As for "every conceivable means", there is no more than a handful that I
would consider and there are plenty of tools that can be used to
automatically drive the same messages/alerts through to multiple
services.
