Post-doctoral fellow in affective neuroscience of stress
The Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition, and Behavior seeks to hire a post-doctoral fellow in affective neuroscience of stress in the laboratory of Guillén Fernández. The Fernández Lab probes the brain basis of memory, emotion, and their interactions. It applies an interdisciplinary approach integrating cognitive neuroimaging, pharmacology, genetics, and diverse clinical disciplines. The current fMRI project studies the interplay between psychological stress and cognition with a special focus on memory. It uses stress induction procedures, sophisticated pharmacological manipulations of mineralcorticoid receptors, and genetic analyses (see below for a list of selected, recent publications of the Fernández lab on this topic).
Applicants should be able to demonstrate a consistently strong academic record, including publications in international journals. This individual must be proficient in fMRI research and, most optimally, in conducting pharmacological studies in humans. The research will be conducted at the Donders Center for Cognitive Neuroimaging, a renowned institution with state-of-the-art technical infrastructure including three MRI scanners (1.5-7T), whole-head MEG, TMS, and EEG laboratories.
The position is limited for three years, with a probation period of 12 months. The position is structurally funded. In order to receive consideration for this position, applicants should send a CV, a brief description of the applicant′s research interests and two email addresses of experts in the field who could provide a reference.
For further details about the research project and its placement, please visit our internet page (http://www.ru.nl/donders/research/theme-3-learning/research-groups/cognitive-neurology/) or contact: Prof. Dr. Guillén Fernández ([log in to unmask])
Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
