Hi Psci-Commers,
In this midst of all the discussion about public engagement I should remind
everyone that collaborating with a science festival is a great way to engage
with the public (the 'RCUK Public Engagement with Research Strategy'
references this several times so it must be true:
http://tinyurl.com/2v499xs).
The dates of the inaugural London Science Festival (LSF) are now set: 19-26
October 2011.
Our festival website/blog is now live at: www.londonsciencefestival.com so
you can follow us as we 'build a science festival' over the next year - and
receive regular updates on news and events from our friends and partners.
There will be an open application process which will be announced in the New
Year so any individual or organisation can apply to host an event as part of
the LSF programme. In the meantime, please keep sending your ideas for
collaborations.
Next year is the UN's 'International Year of Forests' and 'International
Year of Chemistry'. So, if you have any projects which fit into the
'Forests' or 'Chemistry' mould (the quirkier the better!) they will be
gratefully received.
