As today there has been a brief respite, it was just above freezing at dawn,
I felt confident in taking a train hike to Nottingham (which city resembled
a giant running puddle) and was struck by the weight of the snow blanket on
the farms and countryside, except around the giant megalith-like cooling
towers of Ratcliffe-on-Soar, everywhere outside the cities the snow was in
power. Robin might like to know that Loughborough looked much the worse for
wear :)
