Interesting -not really my field but would eating a Minstrel a few feet
away really have the potential to cause anaphylaxis? Are these types of
allegy only set off with ingestion? Would think that there is a fair
amount of health anxiety going on here, and would be interested to know
how she has come to this conclusion/is it based on relevant advice/a
product of worry? Once you know why she thinks that her Email was
needed then maybe that will give you a clue re future management?
As for equality Act - now theres a minefield................

Subject: [OCC-HEALTH] Question 101
Good morning all,
Would someone who has a peanut allergy be considered under the Equality
Act 2010?
I have an employee who states they have a severe peanut allergy,
recently sent an email to everyone in the department asking them if they
eat nuts or foods which contain nuts or nut dust to keep a 7 meter
distance from her. This is causing a lot of consternation with people
working on the same floor.
While I wish to be sympathetic, the department is very a busy highly
stressful one with people grazing at their desks all the time.
I would appreciate your thoughts and management experience of such
cases.
Many thanks
Grant
