Shouldn't the editors of Diabetes Care have picked this up?
Assuming that this really isn't a joke, there may be a deeper issue
here. We know mathematical techniques are generalisable to many
applications (which is why maths is so powerful), but if mathematics is
not taught properly, but instead is 'learned by rote' within narrow
contexts, students may not appreciate this. Perhaps Dr Tai is a victim
of rote learning.
I still think it's a joke.
